Didion Milling Testing Equipment in Anticipation of New Ethanol Plant's Start-Up in Wisconsin this Week

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Didion Milling Incorporated (Johnson Creek, Wisconsin), a family-owned grain processor that is more than 100 years old, is testing fermentation equipment and other plant systems at its new fuel ethanol plant in Courtland, Wisconsin, in anticipation of starting up ethanol production this week.

Construction started in November 2006, and the project is expected to be completed and partly operational by today or into the weekend. The plant is being built next to Didion's corn-milling operations located on the edge of the small village of Courtland just south of Cambria and Cabbage Road in Columbia County. Corn will be bought into the milling operation and conveyed over to the ethanol plant.

The plant will have the capacity of producing 40 million gallons per year of the renewable fuel and will process more than 17 million bushels of locally grown corn annually. The plant will also generate 128,000 tons per year of distillers grains, a byproduct of ethanol production.

Delta-T Corporation (Williamsburg, Virginia) is providing the licensed process technology, and the facility was built by Agra Industries (Merrill, Wisconsin).
