Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--HIF Asia Pacific, subsidiary of HIF Global, has chosen to relocate the planned HIF Tasmania e-fuels facility from Hampshire, Australia, to a former pulp mill in South Burnie. After intensive engineering and site review, HIF Asia Pacific's Chief Executive Ignacio Hernandez said, "Relocating here allows us to bring employment back to this historic site while enabling efficient delivery of large equipment and sustainable use of local resources."
HIF Tasmania is a $1 billion commercial scale e-Fuels facility in Tasmania, Australia. The facility will use renewable energy from the local grid to produce green hydrogen to combine with CO2 captured from air to produce over 200,000 tons per year of e-methanol via methanol synthesis reactor. The e-methanol will then be converted to carbon-neutral e-fuels such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and e-gasoline for aviation, cars and trucks.
