Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--As part of the Australian government's A$2 billion (US$1.35 billion) Hydrogen Headstart Program, the Australia Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has shortlisted six applicants that can contribute to Australia's decarbonization goals and to provide a clean energy source to different sectors and markets.
The projects selected include: (1) BP Australia Pty Limited's H2Kwinana, with 100-megawatt (MW) electrolyzer capacity; (2) Murchison Hydrogen Renewables Pty Limited's Murchison Hydrogen Renewables project, with a total electrolyzer capacity of about 3 gigawatts, powered by combined onshore wind and solar energy; (3) KEPCO Australia Pty Limited and Port of Newcastle's green hydrogen project, with about 750 MW of electrolyzer capacity; (4) Origin Energy's Hunter Valley Hydrogen Hub, with 55-MW capacity for phase 1 and an expansion to 200-MW electrolyzer capacity; (5) HIF Asia Pacific Pty Limited's Carbon Neutral e-Fuel facility, which would include a 250-MW electrolyzer capacity, and (6) Stanwell Corporation Limited's CQ-H2 Hydrogen Project, utilizing 720-MW electrolyzer capacity from the Aldoga Solar Farm.
