Dow Quimica Argentina continues with a planned maintenance turnaround of the 1,433 million-pound-per-year EPE (Polyethylene) Unit and 547 million-pound-per-year Ethylene Cracker 1 at its Bahia Blanca Petrochemical plant in Buenos Aires. The maintenance work was extended, and the units will remain offline until early September.
SK Geo Centric Company Limited, on August 31, was forced to shut down the 463 million-pound-per-year Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) and 451.9 million-pound-per-year High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) units at its Ulsan Complex in South Korea, due to an explosion. The cause of the explosion has not yet been determined and is under investigation.
Ufaorgsintez PAO continues with a planned maintenance turnaround of the 88 million-pound-per-year Low-Density Polyethylene Unit (LDPE) at its Ufa Chemical Complex in Russia. The restart is expected by September 30.
