Chevron Phillips Chemical shut down the 3,300 million-pound-per-year 1594 Ethylene unit at its plant in Cedar Bayou (Baytown), Texas over the past weekend to complete maintenance in a compressor that was affected by the plant-wide power outage that occurred on July 26. Current expectations are to attempt the unit restart by the end of September.

Versalis France SA, on September 1, began a two-month planned maintenance shutdown of the 837 million-pound-per-year ethylene steam cracker and four other units at its Dunkerque Nord Petrochemicals Plant in France.

Basell Polyolefine GmbH, on September 8, kicked off a planned turnaround of the 672.40 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Wesseling Olefins and Monomers Complex in Germany. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by November 25.

Lotte Chemical Titan continues with planned maintenance work on the 254 million-pound-per-year High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) (PE 3) unit at its Tanjung Langsat Polyethylene Complex in Malaysia. Expectations are to complete repairs and restart the unit by November 25.
