Westlake Petrochemicals postponed a 45-day turnaround of its 1,600 million-pound-per-year Petro 1 ethylene unit in Sulphur, Louisiana. The turnaround, which was originally planned to begin in September, now is expected to begin on January 31, 2025.

Formosa Plastics Group is performing a 96-day maintenance turnaround of the 1,543 million-pound-per-year Naphtha Cracker 1 unit at its Mailiao Olefins plant in Taiwan. Expectations are to complete repairs by September 7.
LG Chemical Limited's 595 million-pound-per-year Train 2 within the 2,800 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at the Seosan Daesan Chemicals Plant in South Korea remains offline due to market conditions. LG Chemical Limited reports no impact at the plant following Typhoon Jongdari, which hit South Korea on August 21.
