Several well-known entrepreneurs have joined the space race, following the legalization of privatized space travel in 2004 and the subsequent retirement of NASA's Space Shuttle fleet in 2011. NASA is now looking at private means of transporting payloads via a low-Earth orbit.

Jeff Bezos, the man behind Amazon, has staked a claim in this field with his Blue Origin space venture. Industrial Info is tracking two related projects, totaling about $400 million, at two U.S. facilities. Blue Origin's recent announcement that it will expand operations at its Florida facility could help to secure its place in the space-vehicle market for the foreseeable future.
