China's BASF-YPC to Expand EVA Capacity

BASF-YPC plans to construct a 300,000-ton-per-year ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) unit within its factory area in Nanjing

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--BASF-YPC Company Limited (Nanjing, China), a 50:50 joint venture between SINOPEC Yangzi Petrochemical Company Limited and BASF SE (Ludwigshafen, Germany), plans to construct a 300,000-ton-per-year ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) unit within its factory area in Nanjing.

BASF-YPC currently has a production capacity of 200,000 tons per year for EVA. Following completion of the photovoltaic-grade unit, the plant will have a total capacity of 500,000 tons per year. The plant uses LyondellBasell's (NYSE:LYB) (Rotterdam, Netherlands) high-pressure tubular process technology.
