Despite delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the construction for an interim offshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in the First Gen Clean Energy Complex in Batangas City, Southern Luzon Island, Philippines, has begun. Through the joint development agreement signed by First Gen and Tokyo Gas in December 2018, these two companies will carry out joint construction and operation of the terminal. This project, with 5 metric tons per annum capacity, is expected to be operational by 2022.
