Japan's Taiyo Oil Changes Refinery Maintenance Schedule

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Taiyo Oil Company Limited (Tokyo, Japan) is planning to change its regular maintenance period, normally in July, to January. Taiyo produces and sells kerosene, gasolines, fuel oils and other products throughout Japan.

Many industrial facilities, including chemical plants, carry out maintenance shutdowns from May to August in Japan, and it is becoming more difficult to secure contractors every year. Since it is mandatory to perform refinery-wide shutdowns every year, it would not be possible for Taiyo to skip a July 2024 shutdown.

As a result, a minor shutdown will be performed in July, with major inspections and repairs now set for January 2025.
