Japan's Toyo Engineering Plans to Commission $3 Billion of Indian Refinery Projects by End of 2025

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Japanese engineering consultancy and contracting company Toyo Engineering Corporation, through its Indian subsidiary Toyo Engineering India Limited, eyes commissioning more than US$3 billion worth of capital projects at Indian refineries by the end of 2025.

The company is engaged as project management consultant (PMC) for two major projects: the US$1.6 billion expansion of Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (IOCL) (New Delhi) Barauni facility, which aims at increasing the refinery capacity from 120,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) to 180,000 BBL/d, and the US$1.03 billion addition of a paraxylene (PX)-purified terephthalic acid (PTA) complex addition at IOCL's Paradip Refinery; both are expected to be commissioned in 2024.

Apart from these, Toyo Engineering India Limited also is involved as the engineering, procurement and construction firm for four major process units that expect to be commissioned within the next two and a half years: the 80,000-BBL/d vacuum distillation unit at IOCL's Gujarat Refinery; 82,000-BBL/d diesel hydrotreater at HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited's (HRRL) Barmer Refinery; 71,000-BBL/d diesel hydrotreater at the Numaligarh Refinery; and 72,000-BBL/d VGO Hydrotreater Unit at IOCL's Panipat Refinery.
