Bayport Polymers has completed construction of its new 1.38 billion-pound-per-year High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)/Linear Low-Density Polyethylene (LLDPE) unit in Pasadena, Texas. The unit became operational in July, and operations will continue to ramp up through the third quarter.

International
Formosa Plastics Group continues with a planned turnaround of the 1,543 million-pound-per-year Naphtha Cracker 1 unit at its olefins plant in Mailiao, Taiwan. Expectations are to restart the unit by August 10.

Repsol Polimeros S.A's 904 million-pound-per-year ethylene unit at its Sines Olefins Petrochemical Complex in Portugal, was shut down on July 19 due to economic reasons. The restart date is unknown at this time. IIR will continue monitoring the situation and will release further updates once more details become available.

Grodno Azot LSC continues with a planned yearly, 30-day maintenance turnaround of the Ammonia 03 and Urea 03 units at its Grodno Chemicals plant in Belarus. The turnaround is expected to wrap up in early August.
