One of Gray's obvious areas of construction expertise is in the Food & Beverage sector, which accounts for a large number of the company's active projects. Among these is a grassroot poultry processing plant for Tyson Foods Incorporated (NYSE:TSN) (Springdale, Arkansas) in Humboldt, Tennessee. Construction began in the first half of last year and is expected to be completed later this year. The 250,000-square-foot facility will be able to process 1.25 million birds per week when operational. Gray is performing design-build work. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
In its home state of Kentucky, Gray is at work on a grassroot distillery for beverages giant Diageo plc (NYSE:DEO) (London, England). Construction began late last year and is expected to wrap up in the first half of next year. Upon completion, the 72,000-square-foot facility will be able to produce 3.8 million nine-liter cases per year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
Gray also has gained a foothold in the U.S. automotive sector. Among the company's projects underway is a grassroot assembly and stamping plant for Toyota Motor Corporation (NYSE:TM) (Toyota City, Japan) in Huntsville, Alabama. The 650,000-square-foot plant will produce stamped metal chassis components and body components upon completion, which is planned by the end of this year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
As e-commerce becomes more important than ever, Amazon.com Incorporated (NASDAQ:AMZN) continues to expand its facilities, and has employed Gray as the general contractor on a grassroot distribution center in Little Rock, Arkansas. The four-story, 3 million-square-foot facility is expected to be completed by the end of next year. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
While not as numerous, Gray Construction also has a few projects in the Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry, specifically the cannabis sector. Among the company's projects in this niche segment is a cannabidiol (CBD) extraction and processing plant in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The grassroot facility will have the capacity to process a minimum of 5,000 tons of hemp biomass to produce CBD products. Construction began earlier this year and is in its final stages. For more information, see Industrial Info's project report.
