India Plans Grid Expansion to Enable 900 GW Renewable Capacity
India is planning a massive expansion of its transmission infrastructure, targeting an additional 137,500 circuit kilometers (ckm) of lines and 827,600 megavolt-amperes (MVA) of substation capacity to support 900 gigawatts (GW) of non-fossil fuel capacity by fiscal years 2035-2036.
