Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In 2012, Industrial Info more than doubled the size of its long-term service agreements (LTSA) database. During the last year, 365 new LTSA records were identified from 209 unique plants in the Chemical Processing Industry in the U.S. and Canada. These LTSA records represent a plant owner's on-site maintenance and capital contractors, as well as contractors with whom plant owners have established a preferred relationship.
Of the 365 new records, 151 have been identified as primarily maintenance contracts. These include labor on daily maintenance, maintenance turnarounds, or both. There were another 56 new capital contracts identified in 2012, including construction services and engineering. The remaining 158 contracts were preferred relationships.
As expected, the majority of new LTSA agreements identified are in the Southwest region of the U.S., particularly in Texas and Louisiana. This region is traditionally the hub of the chemical industry for North America. In 2012, this region accounted for 89 of the new LTSA contracts and preferred relationships identified in 2012, with 50 in Texas and 32 in Louisiana.
Currently, Industrial Info is tracking more than 700 LTSA records in almost 400 plants in the plant database. These records span 35 states in the U.S. and five provinces in Canada. This number is expected to continue to increase over time, as Industrial Info continues to develop the database.
