Abu Dhabi's EWEC to Add 5.1 GW of Thermal Capacity with CCS Provisions
The Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) (Abu Dhabi) has announced plans to increase its thermal capacity by 5.1 gigawatts (GW) by 2030, with provisions for carbon capture and sequestration (CCS) technology

Moreover, to meet growing demand, an additional 9.3 GW of gas capacity will be required by 2030, which will be realized through existing asset extensions, reconfigurations, or commissioning the development of new OCGT and CCGT capacities referenced above.
