News highlights gathered by Industrial Info and IIR Energy (Sugar Land, Texas) dealing with the energy markets.
PRODUCTION
Alberta Eases September Crude Production Limit - The government of Canada's main crude-producing province Alberta eased oil production curtailments for September, setting the new limit at 3.76 million barrels per day (BBL/d). That is a 25,000-BBL/d increase on the August production limit and reflects increasing crude-by-rail shipments, lower crude storage inventories and improved efficiency on export pipelines out of Alberta, the government said in a statement. (Reuters)
Canadian Regulators Recommend Approval of New Teck Oil Sands Mine - Canadian energy regulators recommended approval of an oil sands mine proposed by Teck Resources (NYSE:TECK) in northern Alberta, saying economic benefits would outweigh "significant" adverse effects on the environment and indigenous communities. A joint provincial and federal review panel found the 260,000-barrel-per-day Frontier mining project would be in the public interest. (Projects 56001590, 300010918) (Reuters)
POWER
Texas Windfarm Begins Operations - Lincoln Clean Energy, a subsidiary of the Danish renewable energy company Ørsted, said it has begun operating its new 184-megawatt windfarm in Wilbarger County, Texas, about 200 miles northwest of Dallas. (Project 300420097) (Houston Chronicle)
