Argentina's IMPSA to Construct Two Windfarms in Brazil

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--On September 22, IMPSA (Mendoza, Argentina) will start construction of two windfarms in southern Brazil, providing renewable energy to the Brazilian national grid.

The Agua Doce windfarm will have a total capacity of 126 megawatts (MW) and will require a total investment of about $410 million. The facility will be located in the city of Agua Doce in the state of Santa Catarina.

The Bom Jardim da Serra windfarm will have a total capacity of 91.9 MW and will require an investment of $280 million. The plant will be located in Bom Jardim da Serra, 150 kilometers from Florianopolis, in the state of Santa Catarina.

IMPSA is carrying out the engineering, procurement and construction of both projects and expects the facilities to be completed before the end of 2009.
