Bangladesh Plans Massive Crude Oil, Condensate Processing Growth through 2026
Bangladesh plans to increase its existing 34,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) of crude and condensate processing capacity by 440,000 BBL/d by end of 2026, in response to growing domestic demand for petroleum products
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Bangladesh plans to increase its existing 34,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) of crude oil and condensate processing capacity by 440,000 BBL/d by end of 2026, in response to growing domestic demand for petroleum products. Bangladesh expects 110,000 BBL/d of the new capacity to be commissioned by end of 2021.
Bangladesh's state-owned refineries plan to add 210,000 BBL/d, while private refineries plan to add 230,000 BBL/d via $560 million of total investment. Petroleum product consumption in Bangladesh is expected to grow at a 6% compound annual growth rate until 2030. Purchases of cars and two wheelers are expected to grow rapidly, boosting overall demand for petrol. Diesel demand is also expected to grow, driven by higher demand from transportation and industry.
