Plant officials said that they will continue to investigate the cause and then resume repairs.
Officials said that they anticipate the unit will be offline for at least a week. They hope to have the unit returned online Friday, July 5, if there are no additional delays.
The Braidwood Nuclear Station has two generating units, which generate 2,330 megawatts when at full load. Both units began operations in 1988.
