Cardinal Glass Invests $8.3 Million in Wisconsin
The expansion will increase the plant building size up to 300,000 square feet.

Cardinal IG, a division of Cardinal Glass Industries Incorporated (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) is investing an estimated $8.3 million to expand their Amery, Wisconsin plant (Plant 1060515). The expansion will increase the plant building size up to 300,000 square feet. The company expects to increase their workforce to nearly 200 employees when the project is completed in February 2004. Cardinal chose Design Structures LLC (Prairie Du Sac, Wisconsin) to perform construction services for the expansion. Cardinal Glass is expected to have the largest capacity of laminated glass in the United States.
This is one of six new manufacturing plants that Cardinal Glass is planning throughout North America, including new plants in Arizona, Oklahoma, Oregon, Virginia, and Washington. When it is all said and done the company will add 1.5 million square feet of manufacturing space and 900 jobs. With the new plants Cardinal Glass will have 20 plants and more than 4,500 employees.

Founded in 1962, Cardinal Glass has a total of more than 4,000 employees located at 18 manufacturing locations and two R & D centers in the United States. The company has six operating (IG) insulated glass plants, seven operating (CG) coated glass plants, one operating (LG) laminated glass location, one operating (TG) tempered glass location, and three operating (FG) float glass plants.
