Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). Management owned, Cardinal Glass Industries Incorporated (Eden Prairie, Minnesota) is proceeding with plans to construct the company's fourth float glass plant to be located in Durant, Oklahoma.

The Durant plant will be 500,000 square feet and will house float glass manufacturing equipment to produce 600 tons per day of product. The plant is expected to begin operating in late 2004. Cardinal Glass and its contractors plan to mobilize on site in April 2003.

Construction on Cardinal Glass Industries Incorporated's new float glass manufacturing plant is expected to start in April 2003. Dreicor Incorporated (Hendersonville, North Carolina) is providing general contracting services for the project and released excavation bid documents for subcontractor review at the end of January.

Toledo Engineering Company (Toledo, Ohio) and Henry F Teichmann, Incorporated (McMurray, Pennsylvania) are providing engineering services for the project.

Glass from the new plant will go to markets in the southwest and Mexico and will also supply product to a new sister glass coating plant that is being built in Waxahachie, Texas. The new Waxahachie coated glass plant will be a state-of-the-art, magnetron sputter coating operation and is being constructed at 203 Cardinal Road in Waxahachie adjacent to Cardinal's existing insulating glass plant located at 201 Cardinal Road. Production from the coating glass plant is expected to start-up on June 1, 2003.
