Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Unit 6 of China Datang Corporation's (Beijing) Datang Huainan Luohe power plant Phase III project passed its full-load trial smoothly, marking the completion of the company's first supercritical project in late November in central China's Anhui Province. The Phase III project is furnished with two 600-megawatt (MW) supercritical coal-fired units. As an important part of China's plans for transmitting power from Anhui to eastern China, electricity generated from the project is dispatched from the eastern power grid and transmitted to the eastern region by way of a 500-kilovolt transmission line.
In order to ensure the target of bringing two new units online within the year, the Luohe power plant closely cooperated with those involved in the construction of the project, and the boiler-frame lift and the construction of the main powerhouse foundation were all carried out smoothly. The energizing of the plant's service power supply, boiler-water pressure test, steam-turbine cylinder erection, boiler ignition, the first run of the steam turbine, as well as the first synchronization of the generator were successfully completed in Unit 6. During the 168-hour full-load trial, the average load rate of the unit reached 100.04%, and various technical indicators reached advanced levels in similar units.
On the same day, the first unit of Datang Gangu power plant's renovation project was successfully synchronized to the grid and began to generate electricity.
The renovation project is the first key thermal power project started in northwestern China's Gansu Province during the 11th five-year plan (2006-10). The project involves plans to build two direct-air-cooled 330 MW subcritical coal-fired units to replace two 12-MW small thermal power units in the plant.
