Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China Huadian Corporation (Beijing) began construction on June 28 on the 10 million-metric-ton Buliangou coal mine as well as an associated coal plant in northern China's Inner Mongolia region. China Huadian has been working to extend its reach upstream and downstream with power as its core business since its establishment in 2002. The mine is the company's first 10 million-ton mining project, said Yun Gongmin, a general manager of China Huadian.
The mine, located in Dalu Town north of the Zhunger coalfield, is about 95 kilometers from Hohhot city, the capital of Inner Mongolia. The $450 million project will be built and invested by the Inner Mongolia Mengtai Buliangou Coal Industry Company (Ordos), a joint-venture firm created by the Huadian Coal Industry Group Company (Beijing) and the Inner Mongolia Mengtai Coal Power Group Company (Ordos).
The mine has a total reserve of 1.45 billion metric tons with a potential annual capacity of 10 million metric tons, along with a coal plant and railway.
