Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Northwest Electric Power Design Institute (NWEPDI) (Xi'an, Shaanxi) won the bid to perform survey and engineering services for Xinjiang Tainfu Thermoelectric Company Limited's (SHA:600509) (XTTC) (Shihezi, Xinjiang) 1,200-megawatt (MW) coal-fired project in the Shihezi Chemical and New Materials Industry Park. NWEPDI is a regional subsidiary of China Power Engineering Consulting Group Corporation (CPECC).
The company also will provide survey and engineering services for Xinjiang Daqo Tianfu Thermal Power Company's (Shihezi) 660-MW cogeneration project. The proposed cogeneration project is located in the Chemical Industry and New Materials Industry Park in the Shihezi Development Zone in China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region. The plant is a support power plant for Xinjiang Daqo New Energy Company Limited's (Shihezi) photovoltaic industry park, which is mainly comprised of a 20,000-ton-per-year polysilicon plant, a 1,000-MW-per-year solar wafer production facility, and a 500-MW solar battery module project. The project is jointly invested by XTTC and Jiangsu Daqo Group (Yangzhong, Jiangsu) on 50:50 basis. Two 330-MW coal-fired air-cooling units will be built in Phase I.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the project was held in Shihezi City on March 29, 2011. According to the schedule, the first unit of the project will begin operating in late 2012, and the entire project will be completed in the first quarter of 2013.
As the listed flagship of Xinjiang Tianfu Electric Power (Group) Company Limited (Shihezi), XTTC is the only listed combined heat and power supplier with complete industrial chain from the supply, transmission and distribution of electricity generated from both thermal power plants and hydropower plants in Xinjiang.
