China's Power Output Up 7.9% in May

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--China's power generation for May totaled 6.48 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), a 7.9% increase from the same month last year and a 12.6% increase from May 2019, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics.

From January through May 2021, China's power generation totaled 3.18 trillion kWh, a 14.9% increase from the same period last year and an 11.3% increase from the same period in 2019.

China's output from thermal power increased 5.6% from May 2020 and 7.3% from May 2019. China's output from hydropower increased 12.1% from May 2020, while solar power jumped 10.2% and wind power increased 20.7%.
