Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Engineering, procurement and construction company Primoris Services Corporation (NASDAQ:PRIM) (Dallas, Texas) provides its services for a variety of projects throughout the U.S. In recent years, the company has become well established in the solar power sector, particularly in its home state of Texas. Industrial Info is tracking $4.9 billion worth of projects involving Primoris.

While Primoris is involved in projects throughout the U.S., a substantial number of its projects are for solar energy projects in Texas, some of which include battery energy storage systems (BESS). Such projects include the Roseland photovoltaic solar farm in McLennan County, Texas, which is being built for Hecate Energy LLC (Chicago, Illinois). Construction kicked off in 2021, but the project's end date was moved out due to solar panel supply issues. The project is now on track to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year. The facility will use about 669,000 bifacial solar panels on a single-axis tracking system to provide more than 550 megawatts (MW) of power. Accompanying the solar farm will be a 50-MW BESS to provide power in times of high demand or when the sun isn't shining. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Global Market Intelligence (GMI) Power Project Database can learn more by viewing the project reports on the solar farm and BESS.

Outside of solar power, Primoris also is involved in power transmission and distribution, including the Corpus Christi North Shore Transmission Improvement Project for American Electric Power (NASDAQ:AEP) (AEP) (Columbus, Ohio). In this project, Primoris is constructing two new substations, near Refugio (the Grissom substation) and Sinton (the Angstrom substation) in Texas, as well as establishing an overhead, single-circuit, 345-kilovolt transmission line between the two, spanning about 17 miles. Construction kicked off earlier this year and is expected to be completed next summer. Subscribers can learn more by viewing the project reports on the Grissom substation, the Angstrom substation and the transmission line.

But Primoris is involved in more than power. The company is the named EPC contractor for the construction of pump stations for Summit Carbon Solutions LLC's (Ames, Iowa) Midwest Carbon Express Project. The pump stations, located in Iowa, North Dakota and South Dakota, will each have four 4,000- to 6,000-horsepower electric motor-driven pumps to support the transport of carbon dioxide from five midwestern states to an underground storage facility. The pump stations are expected to be completed early next year. Subscribers to Industrial Info's Pipelines Project Database can click here for related reports.

In McFarland, California, Primoris is involved in the establishment of a renewable natural gas (RNG) plant, which is still in the early planning stages. Frontline BioEnergy LLC's (Nevada, Iowa) plant will is planned to process 700 to 1,000 tons per day of orchard wood residue and almond and pistachio shells to produce approximately 5 million cubic feet per day of RNG, along with 77 tons per day of biochar to be used as a fertilizer component and clean water. Construction could potentially begin late next year, putting the facility on track for completion in 2026.
