Researched by Industrialinfo.com (Industrial Information Resources, Incorporated; Houston, Texas). EnCana Corporation (TSE:ECA/NYSE:ECA) (Calgary Alberta) is planning to construct a new pipeline to export natural gas from the Piceance Basin (PEC 45000463). The proposed $500 million plus Entrega Pipeline will originate in the Piceance Basin in Northwestern Colorado and follow a 330-mile path through Wamsutter, Wyoming and then into the Cheyenne trading hub area in Northern Colorado. The capacity for the proposed project is expected to be in the 1.3 Bcf/d range depending on final analysis. Between three and five compressor stations (PEC 45000464) ranging in size from 40,000 to 60,000 horsepower of turbine-based compression will be needed to supply compression for the new pipeline.
EnCana has awarded the E+P+C/M contract to Trigon-Sheehan LLC of Lakewood Colorado. EnCana filed a pre-filing notice with the FERC in March of 2004 and expects to lodge a full filing with the FERC in August of 2004. EnCana expects to receive a certificate from the FERC in May of 2005 and begin construction on the Entrega Pipeline soon afterward with a September 2005 in-service date in mind.
