Ener-Core Test Facility Could Lead to Power Technology Sale to Dresser-Rand/Pacific Ethanol
Ener-Core Incorporated plans to sell a technology license to Dresser-Rand Group
Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Ener-Core Incorporated (Irvine, California) recently issued a progress report on its plan to sell two Power Oxidizers to Dresser-Rand Group (NYSE:DRC) (Houston, Texas) to help power Pacific Ethanol's fuel ethanol plant in Stockton, California.
In late March, Ener-Core received notification from Dresser-Rand that conditionally affirmed the $2.1 million purchase. The Power Oxidizers would be used for Pacific Ethanol's (NASDAQ:PEIX) (Sacramento, California) fuel ethanol project in Stockton, California. Dresser-Rand is on a short list of prospective turnkey contractors for the Pacific Ethanol project.
Ener-Core expects to complete construction of a multi-fuel test facility (MFTF) in Irvine by June, with plans to generate power from a wide variety of low-quality waste gases that a fit across a wide assortment of industries.
Dresser-Rand has indicated to Ener-Core that its Power Oxidizer purchase depends on the success of a sub scale acceptance test (SSAT), which is scheduled to be conducted in June.
Upon the successful completion of the tests and purchase from Ener-Core, a full-scale system would be installed at the Pacific Ethanol plant in the fall. Two Ener-Core Power Oxidizers would be coupled with two Dresser-Rand KG2-3GEF gas turbine generators that will generate 3.5-megawatt of on-site power.
The estimated $12 million project is expected to be fully operational by the fall of 2016.
