ESPEC North America Builds Environmental Test Chamber Plant in Michigan

The new manufacturing facility will produce Environmental Test Chambers that will be shipped to customers throughout the world

ESPEC North American (Byron Center, Michigan) is almost complete with construction of a $10 Million Environmental Test Chamber Manufacturing Plant in Jamestown, Michigan (PEC 18001711). Located in Ottawa County on a 10.5-acre site, construction of the 91,350 square foot facility started in April 2003 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The new manufacturing facility will produce Environmental Test Chambers that will be shipped to customers throughout the world. Products included in the new facility will consist of Benchtop Chambers, Reach-in Chambers, Thermal Shock, Industrial Ovens, Specialized Chambers, Evaluation Systems and Control Software.

Lamar Construction Company, founded in 1935 in Holland, Michigan, was awarded the General Construction Contract for the new facility. With over 60 years of experience, Lamar Construction has been listed as the twenty seventh largest metal building contractor in the nation and the first in Michigan.

ESPEC North America, founded in 1983, is the largest manufacturer of environmental test chambers in the world offering the widest selection and highest quality equipment. Total annual sales consist of approximately $220 Million. ESPEC is part of the ESPEC Group that includes manufacturing facilities in Japan and China and sales and service support around the world. Although ESPEC imports some equipment from their parent company, most equipment is built in the United States. ESPEC provides various test chambers ranging from the smallest temperature/humidity chamber to one that can test a satellite.
