Researched by Industrial Info Resources China (Beijing, China)--China Energy Engineering Corporation (CEEC) (Bejing) announced that Anhui Electric Power Construction No.2 Engineering Company (AEPC2) (Hefei, Anhui), a subsidiary of CEEC, completed the erection of the first boiler steel beam for Unit 2 of China Resources Power Holdings Limited's (Hong Kong) Haifeng Power Plant, a 2,000-megawatt (MW), coal-fired project, on September 10, 2013.
Unit 2 includes a balanced-circulation, single-reheating, total steel suspension, direct-through boiler, with variable pressure in operation. It is manufactured by Harbin Boiler Company Limited (Harbin, Heilongjiang), a subsidiary of Harbin Electric Corporation (Harbin, Heilongjiang).
The Haifeng Power Plant is the first gigawatt-level project from China Resources Power in Guangdong, located in southeastern Haifeng County, in Shanwei city, in southern China's Guangdong province. The power plant has a total planned capacity of 8,000 MW. Two 1,000-MW, coal-fired, sea water-cooling steam turbine generating units were built in the initial stage. Northwest Electric Power Design Institute (Xi'an, Shaanxi) and North China Power Engineering Company (Beijing) developed a joint venture for the design and engineering of the project.
In July 2011, the project received approval from the National Development and Reform Commission, allowing for a site preparation kickoff in December of that year. Henan No.2 Thermal Power Construction Company (Zhengzhou, Henan) is responsible for the construction and erection of Unit 1. According to the schedule, the first unit will begin operations at the end of 2014. Upon completion, the project will be a backbone power plant in Guangdong grid, with an annual output of more than 11 billion kilowatt-hours.
