Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--France Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN) (Paris) plans a public consultation for commissioning of the 1,650-megawatt (MW) Flamanville-3 nuclear reactor with a european pressurized reactor (EPR) design, which is under construction in the Normandy region of France.

The public consultation will take place from June 5 to September 15. Construction work began in December 2007 on the 1,650-MW unit at the Flamanville site in Normandy--where two reactors have been operating since 1986 and 1987. The dome of the reactor building was put in place in July 2013 and the reactor vessel was installed in January 2014. After a decade of structural delay, the Flamanville-3 nuclear reactor is planned to start in mid-2024. Industrial info is tracking 56 operational nuclear reactors across France, with approximately 62 gigawatts (GW) of installed nuclear power. Subscribers to the GMI Database can click here for a full list.
