Constructing grassroot fertilizer plants is a lengthy process in the U.S. Industrial Info is tracking four planned fertilizer plants that have been delayed for more than two years since their originally planned construction kickoff start dates. Two of these plants are in the Midwest region, one is in the West Coast, and another is in the Southwest. A huge volume of new ammonia and fertilizer projects that were completed in recent years as a result of cheap natural gas feedstock has burdened the progress for an estimated $4 billion in additional grassroot fertilizer capacity.
