Hinisa Hidroeléctrica Performs Maintenance on Units 1 and 2 at Los Reyunos Hydroelectric Plant in Argentina

Researched by Industrial Info Resources Latin America (Cordoba, Argentina)--Hinisa Hidroeléctrica Los Nihuiles S.A. (Mendoza, Argentina), a subsidiary of Pampa Energia S.A. (Buenos Aires, Argentina), is performing maintenance on units 1 and 2 at the Los Reyunos Hydroelectric Power Plant.

The Los Reyunos plant, located on the Diamante River in the city of San Rafael, Mendoza, is equipped with two turbine-generator sets with a total capacity of 236 megawatts (MW).

The 150-MW Agua del Toro Power Plant, the 14.4-MW El Tigre Power Plant and the Los Reyunos plant belong to the Diamond System and use the Diamante River.

The Los Reyunos plant is equipped with two vertical-axis Francis turbines, each 118 MW, manufactured by Doosan Skoda (Pilsen, Czech Republic).

On April 23, Hinisa began an unscheduled maintenance on Unit 1 due to a bearing breakage. Since then, Hinisa has been performing repairs that are planned until June 6.

Unit 2 has been out of service since April 30 for butterfly valve repair. It is expected to be out of service until July 31. The company also plans to perform works on the control system in both units in 2015. The company will begin to perform some works on Unit 1 in June.

The Los Reyunos plant will be out of operation until August, after tests are performed on Unit 2.
