Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--HydroWing, a tidal energy division of the U.K.-based Inyanga Marine Energy Group (Falmouth), has had a memorandum of understanding between Indonesia's state-owned Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PT PLN) (Jakarta) since 2022 to bring expertise in tidal and accelerate plans for Indonesia's first tidal energy plant.
The project aims to harness the strong tidal flow between the Pacific and Indian Oceans to generate renewable energy with a proposed capacity of 10 megawatts to represent a significant step towards Indonesia's goal of reducing fossil fuel dependence and increasing renewable energy production.
Both parties will jointly work on the licensing process plan and conduct social and environmental studies.
