Marathon has delayed a planned 27-day maintenance shutdown of the 60,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Residual Hydrocracker Unit (RHU), and a 23-day shutdown of the 105,000-BBL/d Cat Feed Hydrotreating Unit, from July 6 until July 12, at its 437,000-BBL/d Galveston Bay Refinery in Texas City, Texas.

Phillips 66, on July 6, reduced output at the 43,000-BBL/d Gas Oil HDS Unit 41 (GOHDS), by 50%, in order to make additional repairs at its 145,000-BBL/d Borger, Texas, refinery. This will require a small reduction in output from the 41,000-BBL/d Crude 9, 37,000-BBL/d Crude 10 and 67,000-BBL/d Crude 28 units. The repairs are expected to be completed by the upcoming weekend.

Valero, on July 3, experienced an incident at its 95,000-BBL/d Three Rivers, Texas, refinery, during a startup after the plant was shut down by a fire on the lone crude oil unit on June 6.

International
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) continues with an unplanned derate of four units at its 320,000-BBL/d Kochi Refinery in India. The 17,000-BBL/d Naphtha Hydrotreater (NHT) 1, 17,000-BBL/d Reformer 1 and 35,000-BBL/d VGOHDS units have been derated by 16% since May 26, while the 50,800-BBL/d Diesel Hydrodesulfurization (DHDS) unit has been derated by 16% since June 11. The 25-day planned turnaround of the NHT 1 and Reformer 1 units has been moved up to begin on July 15. Additionally, BCPL continues with a major maintenance turnaround of the 110,000-BBL/d Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) 2 that began on June 2. Expectations are to resume normal operations of the CDU 2, VGOHDS and DHDS units by August 15.

Petrobras continues processing its 189,000-BBL/d REFAP Refinery in Brazil at 75%. Separately, the company is planning a major 30-day planned turnaround of the 94,000-BBL/d Crude 2, 40,000-BBL/d Residue Catalytic Cracker Unit (RCCU) and 31,450-BBL/d Cracked Naphtha HDS, and associated units, to be performed in July 2022.

CUPET's 76,000-BBL/d Camilo Cienfuegos Refinery in Cuba, which has been offline since July 4, remains shut down as a precautionary measure due to Tropical Storm Elsa. No damages were reported, and the units will begin to resume operations in sequence on July 8. The refinery is expected to be fully online by July 10.
