Tata Power, in alliance with AES Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation, inaugurated India's first grid-connected battery energy storage facility in Delhi, with a capacity of 10 megawatts. The power generated from this power plant will serve the grid operated by Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited, a joint venture of Tata Power and the government of Delhi. With the government of India's ambitious vision of installing 225 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2022, these battery energy storage systems will pave the way for effective renewable energy integration and peak load management of the national grids.
