Plant sources said that debris is clogging the condenser of the 253-megawatt (MW) Unit 1, while the 471-MW Unit 2 has a suction valve problem.
Officials estimate that both units will remain down for about three days, with Unit 2 returning online August 31 and Unit 1 returning September 1, barring unforeseen delays.
Plant sources said that they were unable to make the necessary repairs while the units remained online.
The coal-fired power plant has four generating units and a total capacity of 1,882 MW when at full load. Units 3 and 4 will remain online and continue generating at full load.
