India's HPCL to Add Solvent Deasphalting Units

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Indian refineries are scheduled to invest about US$479 million to construct 143,519 barrels per day (BBL/d) of solvent deasphalting capacity in an attempt to further enhance profitability by increasing distillates production.

Among the projects, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) (Mumbai, India) is planning a 62,000-BBL/d solvent deasphalting unit as part of its refinery modernization project at its Visakhapatnam facility by early 2024.
