Inner Mongolia's 300,000-Ton Coal-to-EG Project Resumes Construction

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--In early 2013, Inner Mongolia Connell Chemical Company announced plans to invest US$852 million to build a 300,000 ton-per-year ethylene glycol project. The project then stalled due to various factors and ceased construction in 2016.

In 2022, with the assistance of the Inner Mongolia government, Connell Chemical Industry went through bankruptcy and reorganization procedures and restarted the ethylene glycol project. The replanned Connell project will be constructed in three phases, with an investment of US$4 billion.
