Iran's Tabriz Oil Refining Company Plans Upgrade Project

Researched by Industrial Info Resources India (Delhi, India)--In a bid to augment refining capacity, Iran's major refiner, National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC), along with Tabriz Oil Refining Company (TZORC), has rolled out a massive upgrade and expansion project at the Tabriz Refinery.

As part of an expansion drive, TZORC intends to construct new units inside the refinery to meeting Euro-V specifications for kerosene and gas oil. Equipment to provide 99.9% sulfur recovery and increase energy conservation will also be part of the project.

Several major units will be added, including a gas oil hydrotreater, a sulfur recovery unit with a tail gas treating unit, a captive power plant, kerosene hydrotreater and a PSA hydrogen unit, along with associated offsite equipment and utilities.

The project is being implemented by National Iranian Oil Engineering & Construction Company (NIOEC).
