ITW Expands Again in South Carolina
ITW plans to build a new manufacturing plant across from an existing plant in Darlington, South Carolina

Illinois Tool Works Incorporated (NYSE:ITW) (Glenview, Illinois), with ITW Angleboard, plans to build a new manufacturing plant across from an existing plant in Darlington, South Carolina (Plant 1063138).
Construction started in January 2004 on an 80,000 square foot facility at 123 Cornerboard Lane in Darlington, South Carolina. The new plant is being constructed across the street from an existing ITW plant located at 135 Cornerboard Lane (Plant 1063156) that was built five years ago, which succeeded a Hartsville-based business ITW purchased in 1993. Completion is slated for summer 2004 with approximately 30 jobs being created.
This new plant will produce an extruded mix of polyethylene that can be recycled repeatedly back into itself when collected. The plant will manufacture corner board protectors and plastic extruders. The product will be exported to Latin and South America and sold in the United States.
Metal Builders of Florence Incorporated located in Florence, South Carolina was awarded the general construction contract for the new plant.
Illinois Tool Works Incorporated, (ITW) founded in 1912, designs and produces an array of highly engineered fasteners and components, equipment and consumable systems, and specialty products and equipment for customers around the world. ITW Angleboard manufactures protective packaging and transportation systems to be used in produce, packaged foods, automotive, lumber and steel. Their products protect the edges or corners of a customer's product, enhance the stacking strength of palletized loads and increase load integrity for warehousing or shipping goods.
