U.S. Crude Oil Production Soars 14.3% in March - U.S. crude oil output jumped 14.3% to 11.2 million barrels per day (BBL/d) in March from 9.8 million BBL/d in February, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its monthly 914 production report on Friday. Output sank 1.3 million BBL/d in February when extreme weather froze natural gas and oil wells. That 1.4 million-BBL/d increase in March was the biggest monthly gain on record, according to EIA data going back to 2005. (Reuters)

Biden Administration Freezes Oil Leases in Alaska Wildlife Refuge - The Biden administration is suspending all oil and gas leases in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge pending a deeper look at the environmental impacts of drilling in the sensitive region, the Interior Department said Tuesday. Kinder Morgan to Buy Stagecoach Gas Services - Kinder Morgan Incorporated (NYSE:KMI) (Houston, Texas) said on Tuesday it has agreed to buy Stagecoach Gas Services LLC (Owego, New York) for $1.23 billion as the pipeline operator looks to expand into the northeast U.S. market. Stagecoach is a natural gas pipeline and storage joint venture between Consolidated Edison Incorporated (NYSE:ED) (New York, New York) and Crestwood Equity Partners LP (NYSE:CEQP) (Houston). The deal is expected to close in third-quarter 2021. (Reuters)

PSEG Retires Connecticut Coal-Fired Unit - Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated (PSEG) (NYSE:PEG) retired operating group PSEG Power's Bridgeport Harbor Station Unit 3 power plant in Connecticut, effective May 31. The unit was the last remaining coal-fired power plant in PSEG Power's generation fleet.
