Magellan Midstream to Further Expand Texas Refined Products Pipeline System - Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. (NYSE:MMP) announced an additional expansion of the western leg of its refined petroleum products pipeline system in Texas. Magellan had previously announced its plans to expand the capacity of this line segment to approximately 150,000 barrels per day (BBL/d) from its current capacity of 100,000 BBL/d. Based on additional committed volume received as part of its recent supplemental open season, the partnership now plans to expand this pipe capacity to 175,000 BBL/d. (PR Newswire)
Keystone XL Route Gets Positive Environmental Review - TransCanada Corporation's (NSYE:TRP) proposed Keystone XL oil pipeline won a relatively positive review from the U.S. State Department, which found that the conduit's approved route would have no significant environmental impacts. The alternate route that Nebraska regulators approved for the line would have minor to moderate effects on three of the eight environmental categories the department assessed, with minor impacts on three others and a negligible effect on one, according to a review released Monday.
