Merck Invests in South Korean Facility

Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Merck (Darmstadt, Germany) will invest 430 billion won (US$319 million) in Daejeon, South Korea, to create a base for targeting the Asia-Pacific region.

The new plant will be built within the International Science Business Belt in Dungok District, Yuseong-gu, and detailed design work for construction is underway.

The new production plant is supplied with products and solutions essential for biopharmaceutical development and production, including Merck's dry powder cell culture medium.
