Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced initial private investments of US$763 million in 20 industrial parks across Mexico. Together, these industrial parks are expected to generate more than 32,000 jobs and accommodate 175 companies. The announcement is part of Plan México's target to develop 100 industrial parks by 2030. The first 20 industrial parks under Sheinbaum were presented in February 2026.
"We are entering the third year of the administration, and 40% of the goal has already been met or is on the verge of being met," Sheinbaum said.
This strategy seeks to reduce import dependency and strengthen Mexican supply chains and domestic innovation and industries.
The new 20 industrial parks are located across the states of Coahuila, Nuevo Leon, Mexico City, State of Mexico, Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Queretaro and Baja California. Most are in states bordering the U.S.
Ten of the 20 industrial parks announced are in Coahuila and Nuevo Leon. The states of Baja California, Coahuila and Nuevo Leon will account for 95 of the companies involved, with 28,900 projected job opportunities under this program.

Nearshoring, the relocation of production and supply chains closer to end markets, has allowed Mexican border states to attract investments through their proximity to companies and customers in the U.S.
The automotive and electronics industries are among the sectors benefiting from nearshoring, offering companies in North America the possibility to manufacture their products at lower costs in Mexico.
At the same event, David O'Donnell, President of the Mexican Association of Private Industrial Parks (AMPIP), said that AMPIP members plan to invest US$4.6 billion in 2026 in autoparts, medical devices, the aerospace industry, industrial machinery and electronic equipment to sustain the competitiveness of Mexico and North America.
Additional manufacturing activity at the parks could increase demand for industrial inputs, raw materials, and electricity, further encouraging investments and developments in other sectors.
