Offshore Company LLOG Expects Salamanca Production in August - Privately owned offshore producer LLOG Exploration (Covington, Louisiana) said it expects production from its Salamanca project in August this year. The Salamanca project seeks to refurbish a former Gulf of Mexico (renamed by the Trump administration the Gulf of America) production facility into a floating production unit with a capacity of 60,000 barrels per day of oil and 40 million cubic feet of natural gas per day. EIA: U.S. Power Use to Rise to New Highs in 2025, 2026 - U.S. power consumption will hit record highs in 2025 and 2026, the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its Short-Term Energy Outlook on Tuesday. The EIA projected power demand will rise to 4,205 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2025 and 4,252 billion kWh in 2026, from a record 4,097 billion kWh in 2024. The EIA said natural gas' share of power generation would slide from 42% in 2024 to 40% in 2025 and 2026. Coal's share will hold at 16% in 2025, the same as 2024, before easing to 15% in 2026, as renewable output rises. (Reuters)
