Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas). To further strengthen its plan to be the leading supplier of premium paper towel and bath tissue products, Georgia-Pacific (Atlanta, Georgia), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of privately held, Koch Industries (Wichita, Kansas), has engaged in the construction of a new through-air-dried (TAD) tissue paper machine and related equipment at its Wauna pulp and paper mill in Clatskanie, Oregon. Total investment for the new paper machine, No.7 (PM7), building and installation of related equipment is estimated at nearly $200 million, similar to the amount the company spent three years ago on the installation of PM6.
Industrial Info Resources first reported on Georgia-Pacifics plans for the installation of PM 7 in a September 2006 project report, which detailed the scope of the project, tentative schedule, and key contacts.
Georgia-Pacific, one of the worlds leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, packaging, paper, pulp, and building products and related chemicals was acquired more than a year ago by Koch Industries, Incorporated, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Koch Forest Products, Incorporated. Koch Industries is a privately held company and owns a diverse group of companies engaged in trading, operations and investments worldwide.
