Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The 24,000-barrel-per-day (BBL/d) Managua Refinery in Managua, Nicaragua, owned by Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) (Irving, Texas), will undergo a planned maintenance shutdown on all processing units in November.
The refinery has four processing units: Distillation (24,000 BBL/d), Power Former (4,000 BBL/d), Asphalt and Solvent, all of which will undergo an overhaul by the end of November that will last 15 days. The refinery expects to have all contractors selected by September; however, they are still subcontracting some remaining maintenance work for this turnaround, such as welding, piping and furnace cleaning.
In June, the plant had to shut down all of its units for minor maintenance work that took 15 days.
