Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Industrial Info is tracking more than $1.5 billion worth of projects that are under construction in Oklahoma. In terms of project value, the Power Industry leads the state, thanks to some large windfarms. This is followed by the Pharmaceutical-Biotech Industry.
Leading the industrial construction activity in Oklahoma are two windfarms, representing about 500 megawatts (MW) of nameplate generating capacity. The larger of these, the 300-MW Seven Cowboy Windfarm, is being developed by Enel SpA (Rome, Italy) near Cordell. The facility will use 107 turbines, each with a capacity of 2.8 MW. The 25 Mile Creek Windfarm also is being built by Enel near Gage. The facility will consist of 60 4.16-MW wind turbines to achieve 250 MW of total nameplate capacity.
